Nails and Staples and Zipcars... O My!

I have been wanting to make a headboard for our bedroom for awhile. I have made one headboard before but had the assistance of my parents for the transportation and construction process. This time around things were going to be different - I was going in solo. I ordered the batting, staple gun, and staples beforehand online. I had picked up navy velvet fabric and gold upholstery nails last time I was downtown. The only thing missing was the wood. How does one purchase and bring home a giant piece of wood from Home Depot 2 miles away and no car? Well, after weighing the options (and I really did consider all these options): bus, taxi, walking ... I decided on Zipcar. Zipcar has saved me twice now in the last two months. Thank you Zipcar! I reserved a GIANT van for the task (really bummed I didn't get a picture of it) and hit the road. I did all the driving but did recruit Jason for moral support... driving that beast was something. Then, Jason went to work and so did I!

Materials:

Step One: Staple the batting

Step Two: Staple the fabric - make it taught! (sorry no picture)
Step Three: Measure and hammer the upholstery nails

Voila!
