After a fun filled week back in LA, the fun continued in Chicago with weekend festivities. On Saturday, I met up with a friend to checkout the annual DIY Trunk Show. There were over 100 vendors selling all kinds of homemade creations. Highlights of the show (all pictured below): cool gift tags I purchased made out of old maps, hard-core bikers that make and sell metal jewelry, and random trapezists swinging in the back of the auditorium.
Saturday night was the Holiday Parade down Michigan Ave. Whoa, it was packed but there were floats, bands, lights, and fireworks. It definitely put me in the holiday mindset. So excited!!!
Tried out a new restaurant called Dragon Ranch - BBQ with a touch of Asian influence. Very tastey. We washed down our pulled pork, brisket, ribs, brussel sprout coleslaw, and cornbread, with moonshine cocktails.
We ended the weekend with the movie, Lincoln. The movie portrayed Lincoln in a more realistic, controversial, yet likable light. The most amazing feat of the film was how similar Daniel Day-Lewis looked like Abe. Excellent acting and a very good movie... don't be discouraged by the 2 1/2 hour length.
