Gobble Gobble

The past two days have been spent gobbling up the remains of the Chocolate Salted Carmel Cake I made for Thanksgiving. Tis' the season for feasting and we will not disappoint. I must warn, this bad boy is not for faint of heart... or should I say stomach... it's chocolaty, gooey, salty, and sweet.

Step One: bake the cakes. I made four basic chocolate cakes.

Step Two: cut the tops off the cakes to create flat stack-able layers.

Step Three: Layer. Spread regular and chocolate carmel sauces in between each layer of cake (sauces available at Target). The carmels are sticky which helps to prevent slippage.

Step Four: Make the chocolate frosting (melted semi-sweet chocolate chips, powdered sugar, butter, and cocoa powder).

Step Five: Frost and Decorate. I made some candied orange peels to top the cake off with and sprinkled sugar and sea salt.
